This piece is split between the prelim for the cover of #48 and another image which I feel I’ve seen before, but can’t place. Both images are beautiful examples of Jean’s evocative work, even when it’s sketchy preliminary drawings. James Jean’s Fables originals are becoming scarce and rarely come to market.
