Destroyer Duck #1: Special Lawsuit Benefit Edition
Published by Eclipse in 1981
Destroyer Duck was an anthology put out by Steve Gerber through Eclipse and was meant to be a fundraiser to help defray legal costs from a lawsuit he was involved with. The primary story is by Gerber and Jack Kirby. But this comic is most notable for being the first appearance of Sergio Aragones’ Groo the Wanderer, one of the longest running and most successful creator owned comics in the history of the medium, featuring an incredible dumb, but supremely skilled barbarian meant to be a parody of Conan the Barbarian.
